New site set up to share information

As you may be aware Rimrock discontinued its service across Montana and North Dakota on Friday March 25, 2013. As they work with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to reopen, we are working to coordinate with other bus companies with the goal of getting service running as soon as possible. Right now we are in the information gathering phase. We don’t yet know how quickly service will restart. As soon as we know more, we will post it here.

Thanks for setting up this website; I hadn’t known Rimrock had been closed down. We have relied on Rimrock to get from Whitefish to Missoula when we go to volunteer at Project Vote Smart out south of Philipsburg. We usually take Amtrak from Seattle to Whitefish, have breakfast (Buffalo Cafe yum!!), and then catch the noonish Rimrock to Missoula. I very much hope it will be possible to restore the N-S routes, etc. We have used Rimrock only once a year — I’m sure there are many more people who rely on it more frequently. I don’t know what we’ll do alternatively; I will be checking the website to stay up to date about it this year. Of course MT needs a statewide bus system!
